The rumors are true! Kit Kat's releasing a mint dark chocolate bar later this year, and we're already dreaming of the holiday possibilities.

Dove Peppermint Bark chocolates. Hershey's mint truffle Kisses. Mint M&Ms. The classic Andes Mints. These are the holiday candies you know and love (and probably miss a little bit right now).

Start getting excited about adding a new mint candy to the holiday mix. After rumors last month of a new Kit Kat bar, the brand has confirmed it's releasing its first new permanent flavor in nearly a decade: a dark chocolate and mint creme Kit Kat Duo bar.

The candy will feature mint creme on top, dark chocolate on the bottom, and Kit Kat's beloved light, crispy wafer in the middle.

Kit Kat has released tons of new flavors in Japan and South Korea in the past—remember the millennial pink Kit Kat released in January 2018 and the cake-stuffed Kit Kat from 2017?—but the variations of the treat have failed to make their way to fans in the U.S.

The candy brand is finally changing that, with the Kit Kat Duo Mint + Dark Chocolate bar hitting store shelves in December 2019.

"Our fans in the U.S. have been requesting new Kit Kat flavors and we're excited to share we are adding to the Kit Kat family," said Christoper Kinnard, senior brand manager of Kit Kat in a press release. "But here's the best part—we are just getting started. Keep your eyes peeled; there is more to come from the Kit Kat brand."

Early taste-testers of the new candy have given positive reviews. "The mint is perfectly balanced with the dark chocolate," a Bustle reviewer said, "and for people who may be a bit turned off by how strong both of those flavors are, the wafer does a perfect job of softening them by adding that satisfying Kit Kat crunch."

If you're not one of the lucky few who have the opportunity to try the new candy before it's released, you can at least feast your eyes on images of the bar, which is so attractive you could stare at it for an almost embarrassing amount of time. The smooth pastel green creme topping paired with that rich, dark chocolate bottom is indescribably satisfying. You might begin to think it's too pretty to eat.

Ha. Yeah right. Come December, we'll be shoving these in our mouths without even looking at them. Only eight months to go!
