  • Fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 small grilled chicken breast (about 6 oz.)
  • Crumbled blue cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Tortilla chips and baby romaine or Little Gem lettuce leaves

For the miso-edamame scallion dumplings:

  • 1 package (12 oz.) frozen edamame
  • 4 scallions
  • 1/4 cup white miso
  • 3 tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp. toasted sesame oil
  • 24 wonton or gyoza wrappers
  • Ponzu sauce and sriracha

For the make-ahead latkes:

  • 1 lb. russet potatoes (1 large or 2 medium)
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/4 cup flour or potato starch
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • Peanut oil
  • Mushroom Caviar, Dill Yogurt & Cucumber, and/or Pomegranate & Whipped Feta, for topping

For the roasted shrimp with Bloody Maria cocktail sauce:

  • 1 lb. raw large shrimp
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. lime zest plus 1 tbsp. juice
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 4 tsp. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp. tequila
  • 1/2 tsp. hot sauce, preferably Tabasco

For the pesto & mozzarella flatbread:

  • 1 tbsp. pesto
  • 1 whole-grain flatbread
  • 3 tbsp. shredded part-skim mozzarella
  • A pinch crushed red pepper
