  • 4 slices sourdough
  • 4 tablespoons apricot jam
  • 10 slices ham
  • 4 slices Gruyere
  • 2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature


Preheat waffle iron to medium-high. Spread 2 bread slices with jam; top with ham, cheese and remaining bread slices. Slather butter on the outside of both sandwiches. Press in waffle iron until bread is golden and cheese melts, about 4 minutes.
