Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper
- 1 box (12-pack) hard taco shells
- Accompaniments: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes shredded sharp cheddar cheese, salsa, sour cream, lime wedges, thinly sliced scallions, chopped cilantro
Preparation
Preheat a cast-iron skillet to medium-high. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking up with a wooden spoon, for 1 minute. Add 1/2 cup water, turn the heat to medium-low and simmer until the liquid is reduced by about half, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and cover to keep warm.
To make the tacos, spoon 2 to 3 tbsp. of meat into each shell and top with the desired accompaniments.
