Spinach, Dill & Gruyere Strata

Ingredients
- 10 eggs
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 16 cups (1 lb.) cubed baguette
- 1 10 ounce package frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 2 cups plus 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh dill
- 2 shallots, minced
Preparation
In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Stir in cubed baguette, spinach and 2 cups Gruyere, dill and shallots. Transfer to a buttered 3-qt. baking dish; top with 1 cup Gruyere. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees until just set, about 1 hour.
