- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground aniseed (optional)
- 8 oz. pizza dough, divided into 16 pieces
- Canola oil
- 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
In bowl, mix sugar and spices. Stretch dough pieces until see-through in spots. In saucepan, heat 2 inches oil over medium-high. Fry fritters until golden, 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels; sprinkle with sugar mixture. In saucepan, melt chocolate in cream over medium for dipping.
Bag It: If you’re feeding a crowd, make the fritters in batches, serve them in small paper bags and let guests shake them with the spiced sugar.
