R.I.P. Mac 'n' Cheese

  • Refrigerated piecrust
  • Parchment
  • Edible marker
  • A few slices of pumpernickel toast
  • Mac 'n' cheese


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Using a knife, cut tombstone shapes out of piecrust. Transfer the tombstones to a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake until golden, 3 to 5 minutes. Let cool, then decorate with an edible marker (available at crafts stores). Coarsely crumble pumpernickel toast. Prepare your favorite mac 'n' cheese (homemade or from 2 boxes) and transfer to a baking dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the mac 'n' cheese. Insert the tombstones--the more crooked, the better!
