Monte Cristo Queso

  • 1 lb. grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 lb. grated American cheese


  • 7 oz. cubed ham steak
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • Fresh thyme leaves


  • Buttery crackers


1. Preheat the oven to 400°. In a large baking dish or ovenproof skillet, mix the cheeses. Bake until brown and bubbly in spots, about 20 minutes.

2. In medium skillet, cook 7 oz. cubed ham steak and 1 cup chopped onion in 2 tbsp. butter over medium heat, stirring often, until onion softens, about 5 minutes. Scatter over queso. Drizzle with 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard whisked with 1 tbsp. water. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves, then get dipping!
