Mint Julep Hot Toddy

  • 2 sprigs mint, plus more for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 cup bourbon


In a heavy saucepan, slightly crush the mint with a muddler or spoon. Add the sugar and 6 cups water and simmer, stirring until the sugar is dissolved, about 10 minutes.

Strain the liquid into a small pitcher, then pour into 6 lowball glasses or mugs. Add 2 tablespoons bourbon to each glass and garnish with more mint.
