Jerk Sweet Potatoes

Five spices give this side dish a kick.

  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup (packed) light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. ground allspice
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cumin
  • 6 large sweet potatoes (about 2 1/4 lbs.), peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes


Preheat the oven to 375°. In a large bowl, mix the butter, brown sugar, spices, 2 tsp. salt, and 1 tsp. pepper. Add the potatoes and toss to coat; transfer to a large baking sheet. Roast until tender and browned in spots, stirring halfway through, about 30 minutes.
