Easy Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe
Homemade pizza dough is super simple to make at home. Make a batch, then divide the dough between resealable plastic freezer bags. Store in the freezer for up to 2 months. Defrost the dough on the counter for a few hours or in the fridge overnight before rolling, topping, and baking.
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 package (1/4 oz.) active-dry yeast (look for pouches labeled "For Pizza")
- 2 tbsp. EVOO, plus more for greasing the bowl
- 1 tbsp. mild honey (I like acacia)
- 2 tbsp. kosher salt
- 3 cups flour, plus more for rolling out the dough
Preparation
Fit a stand mixer with a dough hook. In the mixer bowl, mix the warm water and yeast. Let stand until the yeast softens, about 5 minutes. Mix in 2 tbsp. oil, the honey, and salt. With the mixer running, gradually add 3 cups flour. When the dough comes together, turn off the mixer. Drizzle a bowl with a little oil. Transfer the dough to the bowl and turn the dough until it’s coated in the oil. Cover and let stand in a warm draft-free spot until the dough doubles in size, about 1 hour. Cut the dough in half before using.
