David Burtka's Heart-Shaped Bacon

You didn't need another reason to love bacon, but now you have it.

Heart-Shaped Bacon

  • 1 lb. sliced bacon


Preheat the oven to 400°. Set a wire rack inside a rimmed baking sheet. To make the hearts, halve a slice of bacon lengthwise. Working on the rack, make a V shape with the strips, overlapping 2 ends to make the point of the V. Fold the other 2 ends back to the center of the V, creating a heart shape. Repeat with the remaining bacon, spacing the hearts about 1 inch apart. Top with another rimmed baking sheet to keep the bacon flat as it cooks. Bake until crisp, 20 to 25 minutes.
