Ham & Cheddar Strata

Ingredients
- 10 eggs
- 3 cups whole milk
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 14 cups (1 lb.) cubed pumpernickel
- 2 cups (12 oz.) cubed, cooked ham
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese, plus 3/4 cup for topping
- 3 cloves garlic, grated
Preparation
In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper. Stir in cubed umpernickel, ham, 1 1/2 cups cheddar and garlic. Transfer to a buttered 3-qt. baking dish; top with 3/4 cup cheddar. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees until just set, about 1 hour.
