Garden Mojito

Lime, rum, and allll the leafy green herbs. Cheers to that!

  • 16 fresh mint leaves, thinly sliced, plus sprigs for garnish

  • 8 large fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced, plus sprigs for garnish

  • 2 tbsp. finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves, plus sprigs for garnish

  • 3 tbsp. sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. finely grated peeled fresh ginger

  • 4 oz. white rum

  • 1/2 tsp. lime zest plus 1 1/2 oz. juice (from 2 limes)

  • Ice, for shaking and serving

  • 6 oz. seltzer, chilled


1. In a cocktail shaker, using a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon, muddle the herbs, sugar, and ginger until coarsely mashed. Add the rum and the lime zest and juice. Fill the shaker with ice. Cover and shake vigorously.

2. Divide between 2 glasses filled with ice. Top with the seltzer. Garnish with the herb sprigs.
