Fennel Crushes

  • 1/4 cup fresh fennel, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • Ice cubes
  • 3 ounces (1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons) gin
  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup) anise flavor liqueur, such as Pernod
  • 1/4 cup orange juice


Add the fennel and fennel seeds to a cocktail shaker and muddle with a wooden spoon.

Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add the gin, anise liqueur and orange juice. Shake for 10 seconds, then strain into 2 ice-filled glasses.
