Mayoless Slaw
This delicious slaw gets its sweet-and-sour flavor from a vinegar and sugar mixture—no mayo needed!
Ingredients
1/2 cup rice vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
4 cups shredded cabbage (about 1 lb.)
4 cups shredded carrots (about 1 1/2 lb.)
1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced on an angle
4 jalapeño chiles, seeded and finely chopped
Toasted sesame oil and sesame seeds, for serving
Preparation
In a large bowl, whisk the vinegar and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Toss with the vegetables. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Toss the slaw; season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with sesame oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
