Chai-Spiced Pie Shake

This shake is great made with pumpkin or apple pie.

  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces

  • 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream

  • 1 large slice of pumpkin or apple pie, plus 2 mini slices of pie for garnish

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1/4 tsp. ground cardamom

  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

  • Whipped cream, for garnish


1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Spread the nuts on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake until fragrant and lightly toasted, 5 to 7 minutes. Let cool. Chop enough nuts to measure about 1 tbsp. and set aside for garnish.

2. In a blender, mix the remaining nuts, the ice cream, large slice of pie, milk, cardamom, and half the pepper until smooth. Divide between 2 glasses. Top with the whipped cream, chopped nuts, and the remaining pepper. Garnish with the mini slices of pie.
