Rachael's VIP Green Room
Welcome to your insider peek at The Hamptoms room, a beachy VIP green room on Rach's set! HGTV host and Rachael's designer buddy, Taniya Nayak, used the summer seashore for inspiration.
"The vibe is all about beachy, modern Americana, so I designed with sandy neutrals and subtle pops of red, white and blue," Taniya Nayak says. Take a look inside, and steal her tricks to turn your home into your very own VIP area!
To make an accent wall with a lot of texture, Taniya cleverly wove strips of laminate flooring through steel pipes from the hardware store.
Floor-to-ceiling curtains on the wall behind the dining table create the illusion of big windows -- or can be used to hide your laundry or storage space.
Just like your living room, this space has to multitask! "Thinking through what day-to-day action a room sees and prioritizing that in the design will help you make the most of your space," Taniya says.
Before Hugh Jackman stepped onto Rach's stage, he kicked back in here!
Finagle for the Table
"This table was the perfect height and width but the wrong finish, so I gave it a sun-bleached look, like driftwood you'd find at the beach," Taniya says.
Just like the one on Rach's console, this ocean lamp adds a touch of beachy style.
An island bird candle holder pops in a neutral room.
Your old chair can look like Rach's -- reupholster it with ikat fabric.
Fill 'er Up
A reclaimed fir root-wood bowl makes a cool catchall for the coffee table.
Bokara Linx pillows add pretty patterns to a simple sofa.
Circle Link pillows add a nautical touch to the decor.
Microfiber dining chairs look like Rach's distressed leather ones, but without the hefty price tag.
Use metal drums as end tables or extra seating.
