Rachael's VIP Green Room
VIP Treatment
"The vibe is all about beachy, modern Americana, so I designed with sandy neutrals and subtle pops of red, white and blue," Taniya Nayak says. Take a look inside, and steal her tricks to turn your home into your very own VIP area!
Ground Work
To make an accent wall with a lot of texture, Taniya cleverly wove strips of laminate flooring through steel pipes from the hardware store.
Drapery Disguise
Floor-to-ceiling curtains on the wall behind the dining table create the illusion of big windows -- or can be used to hide your laundry or storage space.
Practical Purposes
Just like your living room, this space has to multitask! "Thinking through what day-to-day action a room sees and prioritizing that in the design will help you make the most of your space," Taniya says.
Fun Fact
Before Hugh Jackman stepped onto Rach's stage, he kicked back in here!
Finagle for the Table
"This table was the perfect height and width but the wrong finish, so I gave it a sun-bleached look, like driftwood you'd find at the beach," Taniya says.
Shore Thing
Just like the one on Rach's console, this ocean lamp adds a touch of beachy style.
Sweet Tweet
An island bird candle holder pops in a neutral room.
