In a phrase: creamy, spreadable deliciousness.

Each month, Rachael Ray Every Day staffers try hundreds (seriously, hundreds) of new food products (it's research, people!) in hopes of determining the best of the bunch for our monthly Checkout column. The problem? We never have enough room in the mag for all the products we love from the taste test. Introducing: Food Fave, a new web column where we'll show a little extra love to our editors' favorite new food and bev picks. Check back every week for your grocery store aisle inspo!

This Week's Food Fave: RX Nut Butters

From a distance, you might not be able to tell that this RX product is not a protein bar—the packaging looks almost identical to the brand's flagship products. But be careful when opening the package: These are actually nut butters, and they're easily spill-able (a testament to their creaminess), and if you don't knead the packet beforehand, potentially oily on top. Once you take a taste of any of the three flavors, though, you'll be hooked, and the ingredients are super clean. Lastly, the single-serving packets make nut butter conveniently tote-able.

Here's what our staffers had to say:

"My biggest issue with nut butters is that the butter and the oil separates. These packets solve that problem—you just knead the packet and you've got the perfect, creamy spread. They're great on toast, in smoothies, or even on their own for a late-afternoon pick me up. I'm a purist and love the regular peanut butter, but I bet kids would love the Honey-Cinnamon and Vanilla Almond packets."—Geraldine Campbell, executive editor

"I love the size of these tasty nut butters packets. They're perfect for throwing in my work bag in the morning and spreading it all over whatever carb shows up on the free table that day."—Grace Rasmus, associate digital editor

"As a proud Gen-Xer, I am not a gym goer; I like to just pull on my shoes and run (every month or so). And I'm not a "nut butter" person, which just sounds so millenial. Give me some good old peanut butter and I will eat that magical stuff straight out of the jar. By the heaping spoonful. So while I take issue with its name, I love RX Nut Butter Peanut Butter. Peanuts are pureed to a creamy smooth consistency, along with "half a date," as the weirdly specific packaging says. And an egg white, in certain flavors—weird! But they're delicious and handy in these squeezable packets, offering an energy boost that has me ready to run without having to eat reconstituted granola with soy protein isolate. Just food. All good."—Lauren Iannotti, editor in chief
