Heed Rachael's advice -- and bonus tips from other experts -- to give your own skin a new starring role.
Rach's Hydration Tip
Moisturize twice a day. You're never too young to start!
Why? "Consistently moisturized skin not only glows, it's like a really well-sealed brick wall: great at keeping bad stuff out and good stuff in," says David Bank, M.D., director of the Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery in Mount Kisco, New York. By day, wear a high-SPF lotion to help prevent cancer and premature aging, and save treatment potions for bedtime: With the slight rise in skin temperature overnight, active ingredients seep in more easily.

Rach's Makeup Tip
Go easy on foundation. Rachael goes without as often as she can.
Why? Constantly wearing makeup can stunt the natural exfoliation process, Dr. Bank explains. You may also want to save the heavy-duty foundation for times that you're really "on," and make a tinted moisturizer your go-to otherwise. "You'll get much subtler coverage," says celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose. "Even a nearly naked face can look pulled together with a tinted lip balm -- and maybe some mascara."
Votre Cu Love Me Deux
Pop the top for concealer; open the cap closer to the tube for Nick Barose's favorite tinted moisturizer.
Beautyblenders
For a light, natural-looking application of foundation and tinted moisturizer, Barose swears by these.

Rach's Cleansing Tip
Always wash your face before bed. No exceptions!
Why? You already know that cleansing helps prevent breakouts, but it can also give you more glow: "If you're sleeping with a day's worth of buildup on your face, you're hindering the sloughing of dead, dulling cells," Dr. Bank says. "You've basically glued the top layer down with leftover makeup." And though clean, healthy skin should shed on its own overnight, you may want to nudge the process along by adding an exfoliator to your routine once or twice a week.
