These are definitely the dog days of summer for Cesar Millan: On top of shooting his National Geographic Channel show, The Dog Whisperer, and writing books, the master trainer is watching over rehabilitated canines at his Dog Psychology Center in South Los Angeles. Clearly, the guy deserves a day off! We dropped in and threw a party for the pack -- with doggie gift bags, and lots of food for the humans, too.

HOW TO TAME A PACK OF DOGS

1. Tire them out. Walk lower-energy dogs for 30 minutes, higher-energy dogs for an hour.

2. Hold back. Practice "no touch, no talk, no eye contact" when doggie guests arrive.

3. Reward good behavior. Dogs need exercise and discipline before affection.
