Even though I'm not strict about it at all, I'm typically dairy-free (you might remember this cashew yogurt I love). Still, though, I struggle with what to add to my coffee. I like the taste of almost all dairy-free milks, but what I don't like is the added sugar. Trusty ol' half and half makes my iced coffee taste wayyy better than almond milk, without giving me a sugar rush before 9 a.m. (even if it does make my stomach hurt).
However, there's one brand of mylk products that I've been obsessed with for the past two years: Califia Farms. I absolutely adore their Coconut Almondmilk Blend, which is deliciously creamy, sweet, and coconutty, but boasts 0g of sugar. All their milks are great in coffee, smoothies, mac 'n' cheese (see, I told you I'm not strict), anything really. So, when I saw that the brand was launching a Pumpkin Spice Better Half (their version of half and half), I was beyond excited to try.
I was not disappointed: This half-coconut cream, half-almond milk bev made my cold brew so creamy (even creamier than the coconut-almond milk blend I know and love). Plus, staying true to Califia's message, it had zero grams of sugar, so my coffee remained coffee, rather than transforming into a sugar-sweet milkshakey dessert. The nutmeg and the coconut tied for the strongest flavor, beating out the pumpkin, which means this creamer is one that I'd use all year long. If only it'd stay on shelves long enough for me to stock up.
