“Fake it ‘til you make it” is a personal mantra of mine. You can kind of apply it to everything, including that summer glow. As a naturally fair-skinned person who freckles easily, I take zero gambles in the skin department, which is why the new St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist has been so clutch in my effort to look naturally sun-kissed.
For the record, I’m generally pro-spray tan but not when you end up looking like an Oompa Loompa. I like my fake bake to be barely there and easy to apply. In my experience, the face is one of the trickiest areas to get right. And for me, face tanners have always caused breakouts—until now.
St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist is a clear mist that you spritz on your face. It's easy to cover your face, neck, and decolletage in a few casual swoops and there’s no need to worry about rubbing it in (and having pigment transfer onto your hands). It's super-light on the skin, air-dries in an instant, then color develops gradually.
Like other tanners, you can build pigment up with multiple applications. Unlike other tanners, you don’t have that strong spray tan smell. It’s lightly fragrant, officially “an uplifting tropical scent,” but it doesn’t linger and is pretty inoffensive in the first place.
Oh, and the mist is vegan, which seems to be a big trend in beauty products these days.
At $30 for 80 mL, St. Tropez Self-Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist is not cheap, but I use it almost everyday and still haven’t gone through a full bottle yet. I tend to spray it on after I wash my face in the morning, and on good skin days, that’s all I need (plus a little SPF and under-eye concealer).
But you could use it during the summer as your go-to face mist for whenever you need a little hydration. Keep one at your desk, throw one in your bag, take it on a plane (it’s TSA friendly and works over makeup). I don’t know if it’ll refresh you, but it will certainly make you look refreshed.
