One of the easiest ways to fancy up a carrot salad is to thinly cut veggies with a vegetable peeler. To take our Spiced Carrot-Ribbon Salad up a notch, use this food-stylist trick: Soak the shaved carrots in a bowl of ice water for about 20 minutes. The cold-water plunge will make the ribbons curly and crunchier. Drain and dress the carrots, then wait for the compliments to roll in.
