How to Prepare Garlic
Cooking with garlic can be intimidating at first, but we've discovered the easiest way to prep those pungent little cloves!
Sliced
Prep it: Put a peeled garlic clove on a work surface. Hold onto one end with your fingertips and carefully cut it crosswise into slices.
Use it: Sauté with veggies or add to chunky sauces. The garlic will mellow as it cooks.
Grated
Prep it: Just rub the peeled clove down the grater. This multitasking gadget is easier to clean than a garlic press.
Use it: Mix into burger meat, where you want the flavor to be well-distributed.
Pasted
Prep it: Chop into tiny cubes, sprinkle with a pinch of salt, then smear across the cutting board with the flat side of a knife. Chop and smear again to make a paste.
Use it: Rub on meat or dissolve into smooth sauces.
