Prep a value pack by dividing it into 1/2-pound portions; seal in plastic wrap, then in resealable bags.

Refrigerate raw beef for up to 2 days and cooked beef for up to 4 days.

Freeze raw or cooked beef for up to 4 months.

Defrost raw or cooked beef in the fridge, about 15 hours for 1/2 pound or up to 24 hours for larger portions. Or submerge, in a sealed plastic bag, in cold water for 30 minutes per pound; change the water every 1/2 hour.
