If you're looking for a sign to book a summer vacay across the pond, here it is. Flying Virgin Atlantic this summer means you won't necessarily need to land in London to experience high tea—you can do that right from the comfort of your economy seat.

Master Pâtissier Eric Lanlard—Head Pastry Chef at Cake Boy, a café, cake emporium, and culinary school based in South West London— designed a delicious-sounding menu exclusively for Virgin Atlantic. And best of all, you have to pay anything extra as its part of the airline's onboard meal service.

Starting this week, folks flying through London Heathrow Airport will be able to try Lanlard's signature afternoon teas, an accompanying rosé champagne, and an array of yummy goodies. The new menu is available for free in the airport's Clubhouse right now and will be available on Virgin Atlantic flights later this summer. The 38,000 Feet High Tea—good name, right?—will accompany small sandwiches, scones, and even macarons. And it's not just for first class—this menu will be available to everyone, no matter which cabin you're sitting in.

Did we mention it's free?!

Here's a peek at the new menu:

  • Prosciutto, sun blushed tomato and arugula on a stone baked Campagne brown roll
  • Smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill mint mini croissant
  • Broccoli, goat’s cheese and cress savory tart
  • Homemade plain and sultana scones with strawberry preserve, lemon, and clotted cream
  • Eton mess verrine with strawberry coulis
  • Apple and blackberry cake
  • Dark chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce

Delicious, right?

“I am very excited about this new partnership and can’t wait to combine my passion for baking with air travel. And who better to do it with than a fun, dynamic and iconic brand such as Virgin Atlantic. We’re on a mission to own afternoon tea both in the air and on the ground at the Heathrow Clubhouse,” Lanlard said.

If you're thinking what we're thinking, then you're already about to buy some plane tickets so you can try this menu for yourself. And you can splurge a little more when you land in London because you just had high tea on the cheap!
