-What cocktail is more classic than a martini? There are lots of different ways to make them. The original version was made gin, but vodka martinis became much more popular in the mid century when James Bond started ordering them shaken not stirred. So, that's what we're going to make today. A classic vodka martini with an olive garnish. We're going to need ice, vodka, vermouth, and olives and olive juice. Start by adding some ice to the cocktail shaker then take about 4 ounces of vodka. That's 2 of these. And a half an ounce of dry vermouth. Now, the amount of vermouth you use is purely up to you. If you prefer very dry, you can use almost no vermouth at all. To make a dirty martini, you just wanna add a touch of the briny olive juice. Now, cover your shaker and start shaking. Alternatively, you can stir it, which will make a stronger drink. Shaking is purely to make it cold and to dilute it a little bit. Now, strain it into a chilled martini glass and add your garnish and that's it. And there you have it: your classic dry vodka martini with an olive garnish.
