Apps in a Snap: BLT Stacks
Take an all-time favorite sandwich and turn it into an easy and fast appetizer with this BLT Stacks recipe. Watch this video to learn how to make this app in a snap.
Whenever I'm planning what to serve as a party snack. I like to think of meals I love and how I can treat them into a bite-size version. I'm gonna show you how to make a mini BLT sandwich on a stick. First, let's make the dipping sauce. Now, you can definitely use straight mayo right out of the jar like in the classic BLT but I'm gonna add basil to mine to give a little color and freshness. In a food processor, add 2/3 of a cup mayo. Then add about ½ cup fresh basil leaves. Finish the dip with about 2 tablespoons of water just to loosen it up a little bit. Give that a quick pulse. Now for the star of our BLT sandwiches, the bacon. Just cut it into bite-size pieces, cook it in a skillet over medium heat until it's brown and crispy then drain it on paper towels. Next, we're gonna cut off the toast for our mini BLTs. I'm using 3 sizes of whole wheat toast but you can use any sandwich bread that you like. I think these are absolutely prettier without the crust so I'm gonna cut mine off. Then cut each slice into 8 equal pieces. Now it's time to assemble our mini BLT sandwiches and this is so easy. Start with a piece of toast at the bottom. Then add your bacon. Add a few pieces of iceberg lettuce and a cherry tomato on top. How cute is that? And now for the grand finale.
