From Every Day with Rachael Ray
June-July 2006

PIKE PLACE MARKET Everyone loves coming here to see the day's catch launched through the air by the fish throwers. Time your visit right and get the extra-rich, extra fatty superstar of salmon, wild Copper River (around $30 a pound); you'll have to hurry—it's in season from mid-May to the end of June. (1st Ave. and Pike St.)
UWAJIMAYA Instead of spending big at an oyster bar, locals put together a D.I.Y. feast from this Asian specialty supermarket. You can buy superfresh oysters to shuck at a picnic (around $7 a dozen). Or eat a sushi lunch in the food court—and take home a Hello Kitty sushi set as a souvenir. (600 5th Ave. S., 206-624-6248)
