WYNKOOP BREWING COMPANY The popularity of this booming brewpub couldn't have hurt founder John Hickenlooper in his bid for mayor—he's held the office since 2003. From September 28 to 30, this spot is a meeting place for beer makers in town for the Great American Beer Festival (www.beertown.org). Order RailYard Ale ($4), the company's red brew. (1634 18th St., 303-297-2700)
BULL AND BUSH BREWERY David and Erik Peterson started making eight homespun beers in 1997, and since then, their pub—outfitted with 18 TVs—has become a favorite hangout for beer lovers and sports fans. Try the malty Man-Man Double India Pale Ale ($3.75) paired with a French dip sandwich, the staff favorite. (4700 Cherry Creek Dr. S., 303-759-0333)
