CASA BONITA This 52,000-square-foot carnival-in-an-eatery is a Denver favorite, teeming with puppeteers, magicians, even indoor cliff divers. Dishes, such as a green chile burrito platter ($9.30), are cheap and filling; kids love the free sopaipillas, freshly made doughnuts served with honey. (6715 W. Colfax Ave., 303-232-5115)
El TacoEL TACO DE MEXICO No local kitchen has a more dedicated following than El Taco. Sit at the counter and order a pork burrito smothered with a green chile sauce made of roasted jalapeño peppers and spices ($6.60). You can watch the all-female crew assemble it before your eyes. (714 Santa Fe Dr., 303-623-3926)
