Get Fresh: Peaches

Grab 'em while you can! It doesn't get any sweeter than a peach in season, and these recipes give you more reasons to sink your teeth in.

This fruit is freshest in the summer months. Learn how to pick, use and store peaches:

Smell them before you buy -- aroma is the best indicator of sweetness.

Squeeze them -- their flesh should give slightly.

Ripen them, if necessary, in a paper bag set out at room temperature.

Store ripe fruit in the refrigerator in a plastic bag.

Serve them at room temperature -- warmth brings out their flavor.
