STICK TO IT.
Here's a sweet idea: Use lollipops as color-coordinated cocktail stirrers.
JAZZ UP YOUR NAPKINS.
Try the envelope fold: Fold the right edge of an open napkin to the center; repeat with the left. Fold the bottom edge to the center; repeat with the upper (so they meet in the middle). To create the "flap," fold the upper corners to meet in the middle, then fold down.
CONTAIN THE EXCITEMENT.
Don't plop flowers in the same old vase. Instead, fit a smaller vase (or two, as we've done below) into one that's slightly larger, and fill the outer ring with candies, sand, decorative stones or coffee beans. (Works for utensils, too!)
BE TRAY CHIC.
Start with picture frames -- and no, we're not suggesting a party shrine to your pup. Instead, repurpose your frames as drink trays. Swap out photos for fabric or wrapping paper -- folks might not want to put down cocktails on your family members' faces.
You get a few more guests than expected, and chairs are so scarce even the stepladder is fair game. Don't stress. Unify the look of your hodgepodge of seats: Cover chair backs with pillowcases and finish them off with ribbon. Even folding chairs will look pretty!
