  • 4 apples
  • 12 Girl Scout Shortbread cookies, such as Trefoils
  • 1 stick  butter, 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  1. Slice apples into 12 wedges each; spread in an 8-by-8-inch baking dish. Using a fork, mix crushed cookies (about 1 cup) with butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the apples. Bake at 375 degrees until the topping is golden and the apples are tender and caramelized, about 1 hour.
