- 2 tablespoons EVOO
- 1 pound thawed frozen bread dough
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons pretzel salt
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees . Spread the EVOO on a parchment-lined baking sheet. on a floured work surface using floured hands, press and stretch the dough into a 6-by-10-inch rectangle. Cut the dough in half lengthwise, then cut each half crosswise into 12 strips, 1/2 inch wide. Place the strips on the baking sheet, spacing evenly. Turn off the oven; let the dough rise in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven; place in a warm spot to let rise for another 15 minutes. Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees .
- Brush the breadsticks with the beaten egg, then sprinkle with the pretzel salt. Bake until they are golden- brown and sound hollow when tapped, about 15 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
