Winter Glow Mulled Cider

Place the cider spices in a tea ball or tie them up in cheesecloth for easy disposal.

- 4 cups apple cider
- 4 cups cranberry juice
- 1 orange, sliced into thin rounds, plus orange slices for garnish
- 1 teaspoon allspice berries
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 whole nutmeg
- 10 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup apple brandy, such as Calvados
- In a large saucepan, bring the apple cider, cranberry juice, orange slices, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and 2 cinnamon sticks to a simmer over medium-low heat. Cook for 15 minutes. Stir in the brandy; simmer for 5 minutes. Strain; discard the spices. Serve with the extra orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
