We taste-tested dozens of lemonades from the grocery store and online to find our favorites.

BEST PREPARED

Tropicana Coastal Groves Lemonade

Fresh-squeezed is hard to beat, but this "sweet, refreshing" lemonade, made with lemons from the coast of California, came close. Tropicana balances tartness and adds texture with a "nice amount" of fresh grapefruit pulp. ($2.99 for 64 ounces, at grocery stores)

BEST MIX

Ron & Frank's Gourmet Lemonade

Some mixes left our mouths gritty, but this powder was a smooth surprise. Ron & Frank's creator Ron Morrone wanted to make a county-fair flavor, and judges thought he nailed it: "It tastes like the Italian ice I ate as a kid," one said. Bonus: An anti-caking ingredient means no clumps! ($8 for 27 ounces, ronandfranks.com)

BEST ICED TEA LEMONADE

Newman's Own Virgin Lemon-Aided Iced Tea

Already a Southern favorite, the lemonade and tea combo was a hit with our judges -- especially the "brisk" kick of Newman's Own. "It's just like my grandma's," one taster said. That's thanks to rich black tea and California lemons. ($2.29 for 64 ounces, at grocery stores)

BEST FLAVORED

Minute Maid Enhanced Pomegranate Lemonade

Tasters were wowed right off the bat by this lemonade's "intense" red color. The tast -- "sweet, but not too sweet" -- was just as impressive. One judge likened it to fruit punch. Go ahead and guzzle the stuff: It's full of antioxidants and a day's worth of vitamin C. ($2.99 for 59 ounces, at grocery stores)

BEST SPARKLING

Lorina Sparkling French Lemonade

Bubbles make anything more fun, and this sparkling lemonade is no exception. "It fizzes in my mouth like Pop Rocks!" one judge said. The "crisp" flavor won't quit, either: Bottles are fitted with mechanical stoppers to keep it bubbly. ($4.99 for 25.4 ounces, at grocery and specialty stores)
