Rachael Ray New Year party

John and I usually wrap up our New Year's activities at 12:02 a.m. But not this year: Musician and Sopranos star Steven Van Zandt and his wife, Maureen, have invited us to a party at their brother-in-law's Italian restaurant, La Pastaria, in New Jersey. Man, does this gang know how to eat! Owners Philip Angelo and his mother, Emanuela, keep the food coming -- seafood salad, cannelloni, racks of lamb, cheesecake -- while John talks shop with Steven about his radio show and I quiz Emanuela about her recipes. Plus, we all get to celebrate Maureen and Steven's wedding anniversary. Talk about a rockin' New Year's Eve!

QUICK TIPS

How to Serve Antipasto

Every Italian feast starts with antipasto -- literally "before the meal." Make your own spread using sliced Italian meat and cheese (don't forget the fresh mozzarella!) and marinated vegetables such as red peppers and mushrooms. Top it all off La Pastaria-style, with a few canned anchovies.
