To keep wobbly foods upright, use small, pebble-like foods as a foundation. (Here, the Darling Clementines balance on a bed of chocolate-covered raisins.) Match the flavor of the base to the flavor of the hors d'oeuvre: A base of nuts or seeds complements salty snacks, while candy-coated almonds, M&M's or cinnamon hearts match up well with desserts.
