From Every Day with Rachael Ray
October 2007

Rachael talks about her favorite actors and some of the best cities for food

Q  What are the personal rewards of being a chef?
A I'm not a chef, but cooking in general calms me down and helps me focus. If you like to cook, then you don't worry about what to make for dinner.
Q How do you handle being served a meal you don't like?
A I don't eat it. That's rare, though—I'll eat pretty much anything.
Ask Rachael
Jim Wright
Q Who's your favorite old-time actor?
A Gregory Peck, Laurence Olivier and Jimmy Stewart—though I think they're timeless, not old-time.
Q Of all the cities you've visited, which has the most interesting food?
A That's like comparing apples to pomegranates! There's a lot of diversity in the world and in food. Some of the most surprising and diverse cities are Lima, Peru; Portland, Oregon; Cape Town, South Africa; Montreal and Quebec.
Q What's your fast-food guilty pleasure?
A I don't associate guilt with food. Even if I eat a Whopper (no mayo), I enjoy it!
Q I know you're a big baseball fan. Which ballpark do you like best?
A Fenway, of course!
Q Does your snake necklace have any significance?
A No. It's ironic, though—I'm actually scared of real snakes!
